Threading is a hair removal technique that was developed in Southeast Asia and the Middle East centuries ago.
The idea is to remove multiple hairs in a line, row-by-row.
It’s a fairly simple and quick process. You sit down in a chair and an esthetician takes a thin cotton or polyester thread, doubles it, and twists it. As she moves her hands, the threads grab unwanted hairs in between the openings and pull them free—including the roots.
